A long block engine generally includes the short block (crank, rods, pistons, cylinders) plus the cylinder heads, cams, and valvetrain — everything you need on the mechanical side to build a running engine core. You still need external components like the intake, ignition, exhaust, fuel system, and clutch to make the engine complete.

The S&S V124 Long Block is engineered to be a beefy “drop-in” platform for riders looking for serious torque and power gains over stock Harley-Davidson engines.

Because the cylinder heads are specially made, you can use a stock-length manifold and your current carburetor (you will need to re-jet it).
